PLAIN-ENGLISH PRIVACY INFORMATION

Your details stay personal.

Silly Sausage uses only the information needed to answer questions, prepare orders, provide private order tracking and understand where website visits come from.

Who is responsible for your information

Silly Sausage is a trading name used by Terry Sellick, a sole trader based in Hornchurch, England. Terry Sellick is the data controller for information collected through this website and through Silly Sausage orders.

You can contact Terry by phone or WhatsApp on 07883 181344, or through the contact page.

Order details and pet photos

When you start an order, Silly Sausage may collect your name, email address, mobile number, product choices, wording, delivery preference and the photo you choose to upload. Terry uses this information only to prepare, discuss and fulfil your order.

Saved unfinished orders

Your browser stores a private return key so you can continue later. The saved form and photo are kept privately for 30 days unless you delete them sooner. This storage is needed only when you choose to save or begin an order.

Automatic PNG studio

When a photo needs its background removed, the PNG studio runs its private cut-out tool on your device. The photo is not uploaded, saved with an order, added to a gallery or used for advertising. The PNG files you create stay on your device unless you choose to send them elsewhere.

Customer reviews

If you leave a review, Silly Sausage stores the display name, star rating, optional product and comment you provide. Terry checks every submission before it can appear publicly. Reviews can be removed on request.

Ron’s Treat Trail

When you play Ron’s Treat Trail, your chosen player nickname, score, level reached, game mode, and the date and time you played may be stored so Terry can monitor and improve the game. Please use a fun nickname rather than your real name, email address, phone number or social-media name.

Your trail progress, lives, trophies, Daily Run results, sound and haptic choices, and any unfinished game are stored in your browser or installed web app. They are not synced to another device and may be lost if you clear that browser’s data.

Ordinary Trail and Daily Run activity is visible only in Terry’s private owner portal. It is scheduled for deletion after 95 days in the next daily maintenance run. If you choose and confirm a nickname for the prize-free Monthly League, that nickname and your verified score are shown publicly in the monthly standings. League entries and run records follow the same daily 95-day deletion schedule.

The Monthly League uses a strictly necessary random session cookie to recognise the same browser and enforce its run limit. The cookie can remain on that device for up to 400 days, contains no name or contact details, and is not used for advertising. To prevent automated entries, the service also converts the network address supplied by its hosting provider into a secret-keyed, one-way code. The address itself is not stored; the short-lived code is used only to count league requests and is deleted by daily maintenance after its limit window expires.

The league does not ask for your real name, email address, phone number or prize-contact details. Terry can remove a public nickname and all of its monthly league runs from the private owner portal. Contact Terry if you want a stored nickname or game result changed or removed.

Cookies and website storage

Essential: the shop uses security and order storage only where needed to provide a feature you request. Saved-order and game progress information stays in your browser. Ron’s Monthly League uses a random session cookie for up to 400 days to enforce its run limit.

First-party site statistics: ss_visit_counted is a first-party session cookie that prevents one visit being counted repeatedly. An ss_order_start cookie can remain for one day to prevent repeated order-page counts. ss_active_tab session storage supports the live visitor total for about ten minutes. The stored totals contain no name, contact details, IP address or advertising identifier.

The game also counts anonymous Trail and Daily Run starts and completed Trail levels. These counters do not receive names, scores, contact details or saved game progress. A random identifier for each event prevents network retries from counting twice; it does not identify a player. Event records are removed during subsequent counting after 90 days.

You can press “Use necessary only” or reopen Cookie settings at any time. The ss_analytics_opt_out preference cookie remembers that choice for one year and stops anonymous visit, order-start, live-visitor and game-activity counting.

Cookie choices: the browser stores your choices so the website can respect them on later visits. This preference is not used for advertising.

Optional Google Analytics

If you accept Google Analytics, the site loads GA4 using Measurement ID G-XQHLPS4EH0. It helps Terry understand broad traffic sources, pages visited, devices and countries. Enhanced measurement is switched off, so Silly Sausage is using standard page-view measurement rather than extra scroll, video or outbound-click tracking.

Google Analytics remains off until you accept it. If you use necessary cookies only or turn Google Analytics off, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and its _ga cookies are removed where possible. Silly Sausage has not enabled Google Signals or ad personalisation for this tag.

Optional Meta advert tracking

If you press “Accept advert tracking”, the Meta Pixel loads and can record a page visit, an order-form view, a completed order request or a WhatsApp button click. This helps Terry see whether Facebook and Instagram adverts are working. Silly Sausage does not receive a list naming individual website visitors.

Meta tracking remains off until you accept it. If you use necessary cookies only or turn Meta advertising off, the Meta Pixel does not load and its first-party _fbp and _fbc cookies are removed where possible. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings button.

Payments and contact

Payment is arranged only after your details and price are agreed, using a secure Stripe invoice or another agreed method. WhatsApp, Meta and Stripe handle information under their own privacy terms when you choose to use those services.

Questions or deletion requests

To ask what information is held, correct something or request deletion, contact Terry directly through the contact page or WhatsApp.
